Solstice, an award-winning social enterprise, is looking for a volunteer graphic designer to help craft its public image. The graphic designer will contribute to a variety of projects such as slide decks, flyers, brochures, yard signs, and infographics. The designer must be highly motivated, creative, proactive, detail-oriented, a team player, and a self-starter. This is a flexible position, with the option to work in our office in Kendall Square or remotely. Assignments will be sporadic, with an average workload of about 2-5 hours a week.
The designer will make a valuable contribution to the fulfillment of our mission, which is to radically expand access to clean energy by providing community-based solar power to the 80% of Americans who are locked out of the solar market. Our model enables any resident to enjoy clean energy at no upfront cost and save money on their electric bill every month. Solstice has been selected for the Echoing Green Fellowship and the Global Good Fund, and has been featured by the White House, Forbes, and Fast Company. To apply, please send a resume and portfolio to to danny@solstice.us.

About Solstice Initiative
Location:
50 Foskett St, Unit 2, Somerville, MA 02144, US
Mission Statement
Putting solar power within reach of every person in the United States, especially the renters and low-income households that are currently shut out of the market.
Description
Solstice Initiative is the first provider of community-based solar energy to underserved Americans.
Problem:
Solar has the potential to power neighborhoods across the United States, but 80% of American households are effectively locked out of the market. Those who rent their homes, are low-income, have inadequate credit, or possess a non-optimal roof need an affordable and accessible solution.
Solution:
With our help, community-shared solar power is poised to offer a solution for these households. Community solar allows households to purchase and benefit from a portion of an offsite solar farm in their neighborhood.
Solstice will eventually finance, build, and sell community-based solar to the 45 million lower-income Americans who rent their homes. This model enables any household to enjoy clean energy at no upfront cost and save money on their electric bill every month.
