Mass Care/Sheltering Member
PURPOSE
Our disaster shelter team helps work with our clients who have been placed in our temporary disaster shelters. These volunteers help to provide food, beds, and supplies to our clients while helping them to get back on their feet.
TIME COMMITMENT
Commitment is dependent on disasters but shifts are typically 4-8 hours in length depending on responsibilities.
REQUIRED TRAINING (provided)
Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview (classroom)
Mass Care Overview (EMBARC online training)
Shelter Fundamentals (online EMBARC training or classroom)
Feeding Fundamentals (online EMBARC training)
Bulk Distribution Fundamentals (online EMBARC training)
Basic Food Safety (online training) or WA State Food Worker's Card
RECOMMENDED
Adult First Aid, CPR & AED (classroom)
Psychological First Aid (classroom)
Defensive Driving (classroom)
ERV: Ready, Set, Roll (classroom & driving test)
