Monday Evening Community Groups: Support Children with a Parent in Prison

Did you know that a child with a parent in prison is significantly more likely than their peers to be incarcerated themselves later on in life (one study found up to 5 times more likely)? Did you know Oklahoma incarcerates women at a higher rate than anywhere else in the country? New Hope Oklahoma works with youth 5-18 who have/have had an incarcerated parent, with the mission to end generational incarceration.

Among other services, we provide community groups that serve as both a support group and a learning opportunity. Help make a difference for joining one of our community groups every Monday evening. Work with staff to create a supportive, caring group. Help lead youth through games and lessons grounded in the evidence-based curricula used by New Hope to teach social, emotional, and leadership principles and build resilience. Most importantly, serve as a caring adult to youth in our community! Volunteers are needed in our elementary, and middle school aged groups!
