Family In Distress is looking for a talented, hard-working, creative individual for the role of Graphic Designer. Based in the South Florida area, this opportunity offers significant potential for volunteers. The ideal volunteer will be a result-focused self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and knowledge share.

Job Summary for the Graphic Designer-

Provides exceptional creative design and best in class creative materials for 2 brands’ interactive media and print graphic needs. Position has an emphasis in email, print, advertising, graphic design, web design, photoshoot, shows, vendor and marketing support. Handles design projects from the ground up and works with multiple brands to deliver quality and innovative visuals. Must be willing to wear multiple hats and be flexible to do whatever is needed. The position requires excellent written and communication skills.

Essential Functions of the Graphic Designer-

The Graphic Designer is responsible for all the duties associated with successful marketing, advertising and branding projects from conceptualizing ideas through design quality checking and production, including but not limited to:

  • Creating and maintaining visually pleasing, on brand, intuitive and creative ads, training guides, brochures, booklets, branding materials, and websites for business brands.
  • Copy writing skills such as press releases, emails, headlines, editorial copy, advertising copy, training material language and social media related texts.
  • Conducting research and seeking merchandising opportunities that are effective.
  • Brainstorming with the remaining creative staff regarding concepts and execution.

Our programs provide the tools, strategies, and support they need to overcome barriers, increase family reunification, achieve self-sufficiency while reducing the risks of homelessness and recidivism for themselves and for their families.

Description

Family In Distress is a corporation designed exclusively for religious, charitable, and educational or scientific purposes within the meaning of a section 501 c (3) of the IRS code to instill spiritual, self reliance and self sufficiency for those in need. To present programs, projects, services, seminars, lectures, counseling, and therapeutic sessions for the intergenerational sectors of South Florida , especially inner city areas. To present services, programs and projects for Veterans, Seniors, Single Parents (male and/or female) those who suffer from cancer and other potential terminal ailments and high risk youth. For the development of temporary housing, assisted living facility, transitional housing facilitation, for people living with HIV/AIDS, feeding and clothing programs, affordable housing for low to moderate income persons; transitional housing for battered and abused women and children, temporary sheltering of the homeless; to promote, then to provide education and information to raise the socioeconomic development of the inner communities. To interact with governmental, faith and other community based organizations to enhance programs, projects and services to those in need.
