Our Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis (near the Univeristy of Minnesota campus) is looking for volunteer groups (of up to 15) to Cook for Kids in our kitchen! We are looking for groups to purchase, prepare, and serve a meal for our families. Families stay with us while their child receives critical care in area hospitals. Warm meals and friendly faces are so very much appreciated by our families after a long day at the hospital. A great volunteer opportunity for corporate groups, book clubs, neighbors, families, or anyone else looking for something fun to do! Come on over to our house!

There are lots of opportunities on the weekend or during the week. Cooks for Kids runs 365 days a year!

We, in partnership with our community, provide a comfortable and caring home-away-from-home that supports keeping families together and reduces stress during a child’s serious illness.
Description
We provide a warm and welcoming community of support and respite for families with seriously-ill or injured children. Across our five locations, we welcome 76 families each night for overnight services, as well as hundreds of day-visitors. Services include:
- Lodging
- Meals
- Kitchen access and fully-stocked pantries
- Laundry facilities
- An accredited K-12 school
- Workout facilities
- Supportive, family-focused programming
We take care of all these things so families can focus on the well-being of their child.
