You can provide a positive and creative environment for kids and adults looking to discover and explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at National Discover Engineering ("E") Day! As an E-Day volunteer, you will assist people of all ages develop an understanding of an engineering concept through explaining and helping them with an experiment at an activity station (as an Explainer) or keeping activity stations well-stocked and running smoothly (as a Roamer).
This Discover E-Day event takes place on Saturday, February 25, 2017, from 8:30am - 3:00pm, at the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum. During this time, you will receive an orientation to the activity stations from the program director, select which you'd like to work or roam, have lunch provided, and help put away program materials.
Expert knowledge of engineering concepts is not required, as training will be provided in the form of written instructions in advance of the program and orientation on the morning of the program. The only skills you need are the desire and patience to help people discover and understand, an ability to work as part of a team, and a willingness to accept direction and supervision.

The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the history, operations, and technology of the U.S. Navy's undersea forces through engaging, thought-provoking, and interactive exhibits and programs. We hold the country’s most comprehensive collection of U.S. Navy artifacts, documents, and reference material related to undersea subjects, and are renowned for several of these specialty collections, especially those in torpedoes, mines, diving and salvage, submarine technology, and undersea vehicles.
The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum is one of ten museums operated by the U.S. Navy under the direction of the Naval History and Heritage Command.
