Outdoor Adventure Camps (OAC) Youth Assistants help with the supervision and education of camp participants 3-12 years old. A successful volunteer will be able to assist campers in activities, games, and crafts. The volunteers should possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to put the camper first.
Volunteers are asked for a minimum commitment of two weeks during the Summer Camp season and weeks do not need to be consecutive. Summer OAC camps run from June 17 through August 15 from 8:00am-3:30pm or 8:00 am-12:30 pm.
Individuals not already OAC volunteers will go through an application and orientation session. Attending an interview does not ensure the ability to volunteer. Group interview dates are Thursday, May 2 from 4 - 6 pm Tuesday or May 21 from 4 - 6 pm. To fill out an application, please visit https://shakerlakes.org/volunteer-application/. Volunteers are also asked to provide two references from non-family members (ie. coaches, teachers, instructors, babysitting families etc.).
Volunteers over the age of 18, will need to submit to and pass a background check.
