Outdoor Adventure Camps (OAC) Youth Assistants help with the supervision and education of camp participants 3-12 years old. A successful volunteer will be able to assist campers in activities, games, and crafts. The volunteers should possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to put the camper first.
Volunteers are asked for a minimum commitment of two weeks during the Summer Camp season and weeks do not need to be consecutive. Summer OAC camps run from June 18 through August 16 from 8:30am-3:30pm or 8:30 am-12:30 pm.
Individuals not already OAC volunteers will go through an application and orientation session. Attending an interview does not ensure the ability to volunteer. Group interview dates are Thursday, May 10 from 4-6 pm or Tuesday, May 15 from 4-6 pm. To fill out an application, please visit https://shakerlakes.org/volunteer-application/. Volunteers are also asked to provide two references from non-family members (ie. coaches, teachers, instructors, babysitting families etc.).
Volunteers over the age of 18, will need to submit to and pass a background check.
