Join us at the Green Snoqualmie Partnership's first-ever training and orientation. In this hands-on session, we will introduce our 20-year plan, discuss our approach to forest restoration and management, teach about native forest ecosystems and their benefits to Snoqualmie, and go over how you can get involved, whether as a community leader, or simply as an occasional volunteer. This is a great way to get to know your neighbors and make a huge impact in your community
Snoqualmie has always had a very special relationship with its forests. The over 1,000 acres of forested land within the city not only make Snoqualmie a beautiful place to live, but also provide a number of economic and health benefits to our community. However, in order to stay healthy and thriving into the future, Snoqualmie’s forests require a significant amount of management. Last year, the city, regional organizations, businesses, and citizens came together to form the Green Snoqualmie Partnership to restore and maintain Snoqualmie’s forests.

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
