ORGANIZATION: SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) of Northern Virginia

  • 17 people are interested

SCAN offers free parenting classes throughout Northern Virginia in English and Spanish--we need volunteers for our upcoming class--Nurtuting Parenting Program. We use volunteers in several ways:

1) Childcare Volunteers: Infants and toddlers are cared for in a nursery-setting and volunteers are needed to help supervise and play with them!

2) Children's Program Volunteers: Older children participate in a structured children's program following a curriculum that reflects the parenting class curriculum. We need volunteers to help facilitate this program as well as support staff.

3) Meal Logistics: For each parenting class, we provide a meal for the participating families. Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve the meal, as well as help clean up.

The Nurturing Parenting Program is 8 weeks long from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm in Alexandria. Contact for more information.
