Building E-STE(A)M For Youth Mentor

About the Program:

MetIncPowerCo's Building E-STE(A)M For Youth Partnership seeks to transform everyday places into Public Learning Classrooms to provide science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) exposure to youth K-16, educational resources for parents, and resource information for STEM providers and educators.

Our youth programs specifically focus to serve traditionally underrepresented youth populations including females and minorities living in underserved communities.

As part of our Just Say YES! to Youth Initiative, the underpinning goal around all Building E-STE(A)M for Youth Partnership programming is to build youth self-esteem, close the circle of generational poverty through accessible, affordable and effective STEAM programming leading to secondary educational opportunties and then to employment of a STEAM related industry, give real-world on-the-job mentoring opportunities, and utilize technology as a means to reinforce and supplement classroom curriculum in everyday places.

MetIncPowerCo routinely partners with STEM and STEAM providers to increase service capacity, improve outcomes and long lasting life impact, and diversifyopportunities to expose youth, families and educators to the boundless and ever-changing scope of STEM-related fields including but not limited to traditional and non-traditional methodologies in science, technology, engineering, the arts, math, medicine, and mechanics.

What you will do:

Inspire to Aspire for A Better Future...Transforming "I CAN'T" into "I CAN"

As a STEM volunteer with Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company, you’ll introduce youth to new experiences that show them they’re capable of more than they ever imagined!

You’ll be their cheerleader, their guide, and the mentor that shows them that anything is possible- because #WITHSTEMUCAN create, challenge, convey, coordinate, craft, code, and conquer all sorts of challenges. What your mentee will soon learn is just is the same with life as we help them transform "I CAN'T" attitudes into "I CAN" aptitudes of growth mindset behavior and skill sets.

The memories you’ll share will last long after the meetings, events, and workshops are over. Start inspiring what youth will aspire to today, and help unleash the power of YES into their future.

Your passion, positive reinforcement, and commitment to our Growth Mindset principals will help transform "I CAN'T" attitudes into "I CAN" behaviors and outcomes for youth enrolled in our afterschool or Saturday curriculum.

Your focus will be to help empower students to say YES to their dreams and goals, and NO to destructive life choices as you mentor them in career fields, share your personal journey in your career, and reinforce their ability to learn STEM related content.

Once per year, or as needed you will participate in a STEM documentary highlighting the diverse backgrounds, skillsets and interests of our STEM volunteers and partners, as well as virtual mentoring videos for youth K-16.
