About

We are looking for a committed professional to chair the Development Committee of a newly forming Christian school that will serve students in grades 5 to 12 in New York and New Jersey. Church affiliation or membership is not required for this opportunity.

The Development Committee will work to maximize funding from individuals, foundations and corporations and to promote the name and programs of The 1City Academy Christian Schools. The Development Committee will also develop a fundraising plan, which will include annual activities for the Board/Committee Members, parents, students and the general community and will work closely with the Finance Committee to establish the annual budget. The Committee will also take the lead in implementing fundraising activities to support the initial and ongoing expenses of the schools.

The Chair will work with the Pastor to develop the agenda and materials for each meeting and will then convene a monthly conference call. Other work can be done virtually as determined by the Committee, but the Chair will have access to our office space in downtown Rahway if a meeting is needed. The Chair's primary goal is to lead the committee in managing tasks to complete the work that it identified in its committee description.

Candidates with significant experience in development, fundraising and events planning, as well as other areas of human services are strongly encouraged to apply. The Committee will also consider applicants currently in undergraduate studies.

The committee is on hiatus in July and August and will reconvene in September. The chair will be responsible for setting the conference call date for September.

Interested candidates are asked to send a resume and cover letter to kingdomcityfellowship@gmail.com. We will NOT respond to inquiries that come without a resume/cover letter.
