We are looking for committed professionals to serve on the Finance/Audit Committee of a newly forming Christian school that will serve students in grades 5 to 12 in New York and New Jersey. Church affiliation or membership is not required for this opportunity.

The Finance Committee will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the initial budget and investments and for approving subsequent years’ budgets. The Committee will also be responsible for the initial search, vetting and oversight of the school’s Finance Director, and will also work to identify and work with an independent auditor. The Committee will also develop the first policies and procedures for its operation that comply with all applicable local, state, federal standards.

The Committee will be convened via conference call and most of the work can be done over email. Committee members will be invited (but not required) to attend a Joint Committee meeting in New York City on June 15th. The meeting will be held in the Chelsea/Penn Station area of Manhattan. Committee members can also elect to participate by phone if they'd like.

Candidates with significant experience in finance, accounting, and business, as well as other areas of human services are strongly encouraged to apply. The Committee will also consider applicants currently in undergraduate studies.
