To celebrate the opening of our new upcoming chapter in Monmouth County, and to encourage the community to act in the event of a medical emergency, HAMES will be hosting two free CPR classes to a select group of teenagers of both Manalapan and Marlboro, NJ!

As described by the American Heart Association, " Cardiac arrest - an electrical malfunction in the heart that causes an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) and disrupts the flow of blood to the brain, lungs and other organs - is a leading cause of death. Each year, more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States."
With high-quality bystander CPR, you can double, or even triple a victim's chance of survival.

Students will receive a HAMES Standard CPR & AED Certification Card Valid for 2yrs upon completion. Not intended for EMS personnel, lifeguards, or other healthcare providers.

Description

The Health Advocacy & Medical Exploration Society (HAMES) is a national nonprofit organization with the mission of effecting global change in the realm of medical science. We’re most notable for creating CPR and First-Aid legislation in schools, educating underrepresented young women in healthcare occupations, and coordinating domestic and international medical support.

We’re an official provider of American Heart Association, Red Cross, and National Safety Council courses, and currently hold over 3,000 volunteers.

HAMES is overseen by six councils:
- The Council on Emergency Medicine, Resuscitation Science, and EMS
- The Council on Neurology, Neuroscience, Mind, and Brain
- The Council on Cardiovascular Health & Stroke
- The Council on Pediatrics & Children’s Health
- The Council on Legislation, Government, Ethics, and Advocacy
- The Council on Continuing Education and Research
