Who We Are
Established in July 2015, Seemandhra Forum, is a registered, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicatedto helping in the development of Seemandhra region of India with special focus on activities that foster education, health and women empowerment by building on social responsibility and local participation.
Position Summary:
The Volunteer Board Director is the key management leader of Seemandhra Forum. The Volunteer Board Director is responsible for participating in fundraising, administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Board Governance: Works with other Board Directors to fulfill the organization mission.
- Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
- Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and voluteers to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
- Organization Operations. Participates in committees and teams to implement programs.
Professional Qualifications:
- Transparent and high integrity leadership
- Ability to convey a vision of Seemandhra Forum’s strategic future
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
- Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
- Strong public speaking ability & written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and technologically savvy.
Other Requirements:
- Minimum 2 hours/week time commitment
- Attend monthly board meetings & team calls via conference call as requested
- Respond to emails/calls from the team and the board within 48 hours
- Minimum 1 year term commitment, preferred 2 years
Compensation
This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation provided with this role since we are currently a 100% volunteer operated organization. Seemandhra Forum (SAF) is a charitable organization established by Silicon Valley Professionals looking to help the disadvantaged children and women in India especially from remote villages and regions which do not have adequate public services.
