Volunteers are needed to serve as horse leaders and side-walkers in our lesson program, as well as barn crew for those who have substantial horse experience.
Volunteers assist the instructor in implementing our safety standards before, during and after lessons. Whether a horse leader or side-walker, your responsibilities are incredibly important!
Horse leaders get our horses ready for class by fetching the horses from stall or pasture, grooming, tacking, keeping the horse at a halt during mounting and leading the horse during class.
Side-walkers are responsible for physically and/or emotionally supporting the rider, as well as keeping the rider safe in emergency situations.
Both of these are trained positions, with new volunteer trainings and orientations happening every month. There are a lot of friendships waiting to be built!
