Job Summary: The Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center (APADRC) is seeking someone to coordinate a school-based peer mediation and conflict resolution program.The coordinator will be asked to provide training, technical assistance and on-site program coordination for one high school in South Los Angeles. Most of the time will be spent working at the school, and one half day a week will be spent at our main office located in downtown Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
- Train students in conflict resolution skills in order to serve as peer mediators
- Supervise student mediators
- Coordinate school based peer mediation program
- Position is for 15 hours per week
Salary and Benefits: Begnning salary is $12.50 per hour at 15 hours per week. Mileage and parking reimbursement is available.

The Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center provides mediation and conflict resolution services to the diverse communities in the Los Angeles area, with a focus on Asian Pacific communities. We strive to improve human relations and race relations by addressing complex, cross-cultural, community conflicts and their root causes in collaboration with community partners through education, training, and development of new models and techniques.
Description
APADRC is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1989 to provide dispute resolution services to traditionally underserved communities that often face language, culture, and income barriers. The Center recognizes that cultural differences can play a role in contributing to a conflict; consequently, APADRC acts as a bridge to assist parties in reaching mutual understandings and equitable solutions.
