We run a program called passport to manhood along with smart girls. The Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley Thunderbird Branch -Guadalupe would like some assistance in helping teens find there way. The Club is located in a low income community and at least 38 percent of students within the community will drop out but that can be changed by the kind hearted people as yourselves. We are looking for volunteers to come in once in a while to just hang out and build a relationship with our teens ages 13-18 and in high school . Everyone needs assistance from someone who can believe in them when they are feeling down. If you are wondering how you can make a difference is by being involved and holding these members accountable by coming in and playing games and sharing life issues. This brings us back to the passport to manhood along with smart girls. These programs help guide our young minded teens on being safe/responsible and caring citizens. Hopefully with the help of kind hearted volunteers we can make a bigger impact.

Description

Many children have no adult supervision after school. Studies have shown that the hours between 3 and 7 p.m. are the hours that most kids are likely to get involved with crimes, be victims of crime or engage in other risky behavior. The Clubs provide an alternative to the dangers of the streets. Moreover, the Clubs provide stimulating activities that help build character, self-esteem, values, and skills.
