Position Title: Human Resources Volunteer
Area/Program Focus: Administration team, Human Resources
Supports: Human Resources Manager/Generalist
Position Summary:
Catholic Charities of the East Bay is seeking HR interns who are enthusiastic to put their knowledge gained in the HR management program to practice. Specifically, we are interested in someone who is focused on one of the most sought after HR skill in compensation. The internship will cover the wide variety of HR experience from recruitment to hiring and onboarding, and a specific project in job analysis/job evaluation, Fair Labor Standards testing will be available. Internship supervision will be provided and as needed, will validate hours of internship for academic credits.
1. BENEFITS COORDINATION: Helping get ADP aligned with our other administrative systems.
2. HR MANUAL: help in creating an HR Manual for HR Coordinator
3. PROTOCOL FOR ENTRANCE & EXIT: Helping design an on-boarding and off-boarding protocol for employees.
The time commitment would be specific to the project. The volunteer would work in our Oakland office but may be able to do some of the work from home.
Success Metrics:
* Tasks and projects are aligned with human resources practices and regulations
Core Skills:
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and mindfully with culturally diverse staff and populations
* 1-2 years of office-related experience
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Maintain strict confidentiality of HR information
Requirements:
* Must complete a Live Scan background check that is paid for by Catholic Charities
* Must complete an online training in recognizing and reporting abuse
* Must volunteer at least 4 hours per month for at least 3 months
