Volunteer Grants Coordinator
ORGANIZATION: Family Promise of Butler County
Please visit the new page to apply.
Family Promise of Butler County is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping alleviate homelessness within the Greater Butler County area- we offer a day center to get families that we drug screen and background check off the streets while also partnering with the Interfaith Hospitality Network as a way to get churches involved to give our clients places to sleep at night. Along with this sheltering, we offer support services that might empower the families we help pull themselves out of poverty. Support services like tenancy programs, resume and interview craft shops, financial literacy courses, among other types of soft skills that might teach them how to fish, so to speak, as opposed to just giving them a fish.
Title/Position: Volunteer Sponsorship Coordinator
Duties/Expectations: One issue that we consistently run into is not having enough funding. It’s imperative then, that we continually reach out to the community, to businesses, and to foundations, to get more sponsorship and donations. That’s why the Volunteer Sponsorship Coordinator is in charge of:
ü Checking and maintaining Grant Websites that we’re apart of and filling out Grants using our IRS and Demographic information
ü Reaching out to Businesses (with Scripts provided) to see if they would be willing to work with us on funding opportunities
ü Working with the Director on who they’ve contacted and how the grant writing is going

About Family Promise of Butler County
Location:

Mission Statement
Our Mission- to address the needs of children and families who are homeless in Butler County by providing shelter, meals, and comprehensive support services. These support services help us enable them, by helping us establish contacts and connections in the area with potential landlords for affordable housing opportunities and potential employers for job opportunities.
Description
How it works- Local Agencies screen guests and refer families to the network, guests are then screened for active substance abuse and psychiatric problems.
Day Center- Guests use the day center from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM to shower, care for pre-school children, do laundry, and seek job and housing options in the area. This provides guests with a mailing address and a home base from which to conduct their housing search.
At Night- Family Promise partners with the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) to host and provide dinners our guests at night so that they are off the streets at all points of the day.
