Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: American Brain Tumor Association

  • 1 person is interested

The mission of the American Brain Tumor Association is to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals of improving, extending and, ultimately, saving the lives of those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis.

We need volunteers to serve as Brain Tumor Awareness Ambassadors and assist the ABTA by distributing resources at a booth and serving as a representative of the organization at an upcoming event in Seattle. Ambassadors will take a short online course prior to the event to learn more about the ABTA and how we help support brain tumor patients, caregivers and families.

If you are not able to volunteer for the entire day, please still let us know you are interested and indicate what times you are available. There will be many breaks throughout the day when the attendees are in session which will allow volunteers the time to do other activities such as work, get coffee, read, make calls, etc.

Please contact volunteer@abta.org or send us your questions through VolunteerMatch.

Mission Statement

The mission of the American Brain Tumor Association is to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals of improving, extending and, ultimately, saving the lives of those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis.

We do this through interactions and engagements with brain tumor patients and their families, collaborations with allied groups and organizations, and the funding of brain tumor research.

Description

Founded in 1973, the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) was the first national nonprofit organization dedicated solely to brain tumors. For over 40 years, the ABTA has been providing critical funding to researchers working toward breakthroughs in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment and care. We remain the only national organization providing comprehensive resources and serving the complex supportive care needs of brain tumor patients and their caregivers - from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
