Burbank Housing Community Services has tutoring opportunities available at one of our properties in Windsor, CA. We would like to implement a volunteer-ran after-school tutoring session twice per week. Volunteers would be providing homework help to low-income children who will greatly benefit from these tutoring sessions.

The days will be Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30pm. We need two volunteers present at all times in order to successfully operate.

We will help K-6 students from 3:30-4:30pm, and 6-12th grade students from 4:30-5:30pm.

These sessions will be located in the community room, and will be strictly homework help. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to give back to the community by engaging in a rewarding experience of helping the youth with their academics. High school students may like this volunteer experience before moving onto higher education. This is also perfect for college students with a little extra time and a passion for helping others. Retired teachers would have the opportunity to work with young, learning individuals once again.

We are hoping that volunteers can help at least until the end of this school year in 2017. There will be more opportunities to return during future school years.
