The Spanish American Committee is seeking a motivated Social Media/Marketing intern to gain hands-on experience managing social media accounts and developing social media/marketing campaigns. Gain some experience for your resume while giving back to the community. Hours are flexible!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing social media profiles such as Facebook
  • Expand the organization’s online presence to include other platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, etc.
  • Plan and manage daily/weekly social media postings
  • Take photos/video of events and post to accounts
  • Create engaging posts that encourage the community to like and share
  • Increase followers on social media accounts by engaging in the online community and posting relevant content
  • Share stories from the organization and clients using text, images, and videos
  • Build a consistent brand and image for the Spanish American Committee across all platforms
  • Use analytics to gauge the effectiveness of the content

Requirements:

  • Marketing or Journalism/Communication or related Major completed or in progress
  • Knowledgeable about social media platforms and strategies
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Google Analytics, Photoshop a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Attention to detail and good time management/organizational skills

Description

Established in 1966, the Spanish American Committee (SAC) for a Better Community is a response by the Hispanic/Latino community of Cleveland to take ownership of the key issues impacting our community and to provide leadership in addressing those issues.

Through our five core programs, clients have access to a multitude of services, including family support and childcare services, financial literacy education and training, housing education and guidance, employment training and services, and adult education opportunities such as English language classes and the only Spanish-language GED program in Ohio.
