Description:
Assist the Executive Director/Programs Manager in all marketing and online communication roles. The Marketing and Communications Assistant will expand upon existing social media and email marketing tools, and create content updates for the organization website. This position is a 3 month service commitment of 5-10 hours weekly completed on site and remotely.
Requirements:
This position is a 3 month service commitment of 5 - 10 hours minimum weekly.
Design assistant must utilize their own computer and software.
Telework is permitted; although on site work is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate all aspects of marketing programs including but not limited to social media, email distribution, and printed collateral.
Maintain Project Create’s schedule of email campaigns. Recommend strategies to impact overall success of direct and digital campaigns.
Work with Executive Director/Program Manager on comprehensive digital media strategy to define programs that use social media marketing techniques to increase awareness and fundraising.
Manages and updates database of marketing photos and graphics, Tracks and creates reports that detail and analyze the performance of digital media marketing efforts. Manages database of subscribers. Update content on wordpress website. Post regularly to social media sites.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business or other related field of study preferred. 1 year experience in social media and email marketing. Ability to compose and edit content and compile promotional materials, newsletters, or other publications.
Demonstrated skills and experience with Wordpress web hosting platform, knowledge of HTML a plus and Adobe Photoshop and or Illustrator a plus.
Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media. Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

PROJECT CREATE is a community-based nonprofit that promotes creative youth development through multi-disciplinary arts education and enrichment. Project Create teaching artists have been working with children, youth, and families in Washington, D.C. for over twenty years. Our students participate in out-of-school-time art classes, workshops, open studio, field trips, and exhibition and performance opportunities. Project Create offers free creative classes and workshops at our studio in the Anacostia neighborhood of Southeast DC in Ward 8, as well as at 14 partner locations in underserved neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. Courses include visual, performing, and digital media arts classes like drawing and painting, illustration, photography, collage, spoken word, fashion, music production and theater.
