Seeking a researcher for our feature length documentary: The Extraordinary Passage of the Great White Hunter. Beginning with scientific expeditions to Africa and Southeast Asia in the 1920s and 1930s, the film examines the key players in early international conservation efforts and explores the influence of politics and social policies that continue to influence the modern Climate Change movement.

As a researcher for Passage you will be instrumental in expanding our base of archival and historic film resources on some of the key players in the rise of the modern conservation movement. The position is part acquisitions producer, part high-level researcher using primary resources. We especially welcome individuals with a background/interest in international conservation, climate change, anthropology, history, zoology and race relations.


Schedule : Minimum of 25 hr/wk, full time (40 hr/wk) preferred

Compensation : Unpaid/Apprentice

Location : Convenient to public transportation and Kendall Square

Job Type : Volunteer; non-profit. 4-month commitment


Experience:

We require excellent communication skills, a pro-active attitude, and organizational acumen. Applicants should posses the ability to work independently, remain flexible and take initiative in a resource-limited environment. Degrees in Geography or Environmental Studies appreciated.

Description

Interns participate in all aspects of film and media production, including: research writing coordination of crews participation in shoots participation in film editing scriptwriting production of print materials any task that may arise

Salary: None Qualifications:

Interns must have strong communication skills, a desire to learn, and a pro-active attitude. The following skills and experience are preferred, but not required: superior writings skills technical ability computer skills (mac platform) experience with camera, lighting, or other gear.
