Summary

The unPrison Project (www.unprisonproject.org) works to raise awareness about the issues behind mass incarceration, and help reduce mass incarceration, especially of women and girls. The unPrison Project is seeking a marketing expert to schedule and book our Executive Director. This fun opportunity needs a person to market and actively seek, promote, and secure national speaking and keynote opportunities for paid speaking engagements, corporate events, and public appearances. (This job title is also know as Booking Manager, or Booking Representative.) Start and end time are negotiable. The primary responsibility is to help find national keynote speaking and public appearance gigs for conferences and events related: Social justice topics, personal growth and personal development themes, and women’s issues The right person will secure speaking engagements.

Duties

Duties include to search for potential availability dates for national keynote speaking engagements in conferences and events. The Booking Agent will contact event planners and conference contacts on behalf of the unPrison Project to acquire suitable speaking engagements. Knowledge and Skills Requirements Detail oriented with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Booking Agent for this position must also have business acumen, knowledge of making itineraries, be patient enough to withstand talking on the phone, be dependable, have good grasp of sales, and marketing, and possess strong networking skills. In addition, Booking Agent for this position needs a passion for social justice topics, personal growth and personal development themes, and women’s issues.

Education and Training Requirements

A college education is always an advantage although there is no specific educational requirement. This position is much like running a business where you "sell a product," in this case - the speaker. Expertise in Business, Communications, and Marketing will help.
