The Collaboratory, a new makerspace, just opened at the Brookwood Library. It's a place for people to get hands-on exprience with science, technology, art, and craft tools and supplies. We're looking for expert makers to teach people new skills, host meetup groups, and consult with Library staff on equipment purchases and repairs.
If you have sewing or textiles experience, background in fiber arts, knowldege about electronics or design, or just a lot of experience tinkering with household items, plus a desire to share that knowledge with others, we want to talk to you!
Instructors and consultants need to have expertise in a particular tool, skill, or activity, and a willingness to share that expertise with others. Instructors may host meetup groups with other interested makers or teach semi-formal classes. Consultants will troubleshoot equipment problems and advise staff on new equipment and supply purchases. Join us to meet fellow makers and make this new project a valuable resource for the Hillsboro community!
