The overall goal of the VISTA El Paso ISD Community SchoolsProgram is to help develop high-functioning community schools at four El Paso ISDcampuses. Community Schools are high-quality neighborhood schools that do whateverit takes to make sure that every child is provided a great education. The VISTA El PasoISD Community Schools program is based at four schools. Bowie HS, Guillen Ms, HartES and Zavala ES. The schools are located in the Segundo Barrio and Chamizalneighborhoods which have some of the highest indicators of poverty in the city. 91% ofHart ES's students are economically disadvantaged and 94.1% are at risk. This VISTAproject will help alleviate poverty by helping to develop high functioning communityschools in EPISD.
