Give More HUGS is currently looking for HUGS BookShare volunteers to help support the expansion and growth of this national program. We are looking for volunteers to help organize and support the following:
- Organizing and packaging books for teachers and students at low-income schools.
- Support and plan a community wide Spring Book Drive.
- Support and plan a community Book Signing event.
- Support and plan a free BookShare Fair for a local Title 1 school.
Mission: Helping unite giving souls to provide underprivileged students with the tools to inspire a lifelong love for learning, reading, and creativity.
Vision: We envision that every student is afforded an opportunity to receive and actively participate in a quality education.
What We Do:
At Give More HUGS, we realize that the lack of proper school supplies, resources, and support can greatly impair a student’s academic success. Also, we know that a lack of academic resources can make effective lesson planning more difficult for teachers. We strive to unite with giving souls to provide students in need with educational materials, books with inspirational messages, extracurricular activity scholarships, and words of encouragement to inspire a love for learning, reading, and creativity. Description
There are 31.4 million children who live in low-income families across the United States. Millions of children do not have access to quality and relevant books in their homes.
The Leaders Readers Network, formerly known as Give More HUGS, is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to equalizing access to quality education. Each school year, we work with a team of teachers and students in underserved communities to deliver books and school supplies to children and classrooms in need. Our network of teachers and students are one of the best, representing a diverse and dedicated group of leaders who are working together to ensure children in their communities have access to brand new books, school supplies, and leadership development.
