SHINE - Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Elders - is a volunteer program that provides free and unbiased information and counseling to those currently on Medicare, those who will soon be
eligible and those who act on behalf of Medicare beneficiaries, including family members and caregivers. We need more SHINE volunteers! This is an opportunity to serve your community and experience personal fulfillment by making a real difference in the lives of older adults. Choose your own hours and work close to home or serve virtually from your home. Professional training and ongoing support are provided.
The ideal volunteer is a computer savvy dependable professional with a customer service mindset who works well independently and as part of a team and enjoys the pride that comes from being part of an award- winning program. Description
Area Agency on Aging is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. We plan for and fund services for the people we serve through a network of care providers throughout Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties. Through our Helpline, we provide services and information on aging issues, advocacy, one-on-one assistance, and a host of services that help seniors maintain their independence.
For more than 25 years we have been helping seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. Services are available to the entire community regardless of ability to pay.
