Last Good Thing

Things change.....and Grace Hospice is here to help our patients and families through that change.

Grace Hospice is seeking caring, loving people to join our team as Hospice Volunteers!

Volunteers can provide:

· Respite for the caregiver (giving them a break)

· Companionship to the patient

· Reading

· Running Errands

· Spiritual Support

Our team at Grace Hospice is committed to assisting our patients and their loved ones along their journey and providing care that affords quality of life that outweighs quantity of days.

Grace Hospice relies on our Volunteers to help us help others. We value the importance that Volunteers bring to patients, families and caregivers. We know that there is a unique relationship between a Volunteer and a patient. Training is provided to ensure Volunteers are prepared and confident to provide excellent customer service.

If you have a few hours a week to sit with a patient and play cards, read to them, watch TV, and/or give the family a much needed break, contact Grace Hospice to speak with the Volunteer Coordinator today!

You’ll be glad you did!

Mission Statement

For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.

Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame. The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility
