Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) - Site Administrator/Coordinator

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: WRIGHT COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION INC

The VITA program offers free tax help to people with low-to-moderate income, senior citizens, persons with disability, those who have limited English proficiency and others who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. In the majority of the free tax help sites, taxpayers can get one-on-one help from IRS-certified volunteers who prepare their taxes for them. Volunteers are needed in all these sites during the tax filing season.

Site Administrator/Coordinators have excellent organizational and leadership skills. You are the primary resource for sharing your knowledge of the program and are available to assist with any issues that may arise. You develop and maintain schedules for all volunteers to ensure adequate coverage, supplies and equipment at your site. Tax law certification is not always required for this position.

Mission Statement

WCCA is a private non-profit corporation and the designated Community Action Agency serving residents of Wright County. Our mission is working in partnership with the community to empower residents to improve their physical, social and economic well-being. We offer a variety of services designed to help our clients meet basic needs and build better futures. Explore our programs below to see what we’re doing in Wright County and what we can do for you.

Description

WCCA operates the only county-wide food shelf in Wright County from the Family Service Center in Waverly.

In addition to addressing the immediate emergency need for food, WCCA assists residents to access other more long term services that will help to assure the family has adequate resources in the future to provide for nutrition and other basic needs. Routinely, a self declaration of income and the nature of the family emergency are requested at the time of service.

At the food shelf, we have launched new food security programs that are additional efforts towards hunger relief in the community. The Backpack Food Program, Emergency Food Box Network and Mobile Food Shelf are all areas seeking volunteers.
