We are in search of a few qualified individuals to tutor math. You would be working 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 with our middle school Griffin Dreamers in Lafayette. Experience working with middle schoolers and/or tutoring math is required.
Pay is $15/hr or DOE.
Great opportunity for college and high school students as well as retired math teachers!!!!

Program Volunteer Commitment: At least one day each week during the spring semester.
Time: August-May: M-Th 3pm-6pm/ June-July: M-Th, 8am-4pm *timing is flexible*
Responsibilities: Work with students 1-on-1 or small groups on their math homework. Assist to bring them up to a successful math understanding inwhich they can move forward in their math education.
Ideal Tutor: Someone who has experience working with youth and is flexible, energetic, patient, and thrives in a hands-on environment that can be characterized as having a "buzz of productivity." Experience teachiing or tutoring math (specifically Algebra), required. Bilingual Spanish speaker prefered.
The "I Have a Dream" Foundation's mission statement: The mission of the "I Have a Dream" program is to motivate and empower children from low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term intervention program of mentoring, tutoring, and cultural enrichment.

Description
Since 1990, IHDF Boulder County has served more than 1,000 local youth, and currently has 12 active Dreamer Scholar Classes. The model, with its one-on-one attention and daily programming, has proven to narrow the opportunity gap. Dreamer Scholars graduate from high school, enroll in post-secondary programming, and complete their post-secondary education at much higher rates than their low-income peers.
