Art Connects New York connects artists and curators with social service agencies throughout New York City to create museum-quality permanent exhibitions of contemporary artwork in their facilities - free of charge.

We are currently seeking a marketing and communications volunteer for SPRING 2017. The volunteer will assist us in coordinating and promoting our 2017 programs including our summer 2017 exhibition at Diaspora Community Services. Please see the volunteer description below. Duties:

- Work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Programming to execute the marketing plan

- Research and identify appropriate crowd-funding platforms

- Organize photos and copy for promotional materials (physical & digital)

- Draft professional letters of outreach + internal communications

- Call professional affiliates and government representatives

- Assist with implementing the organization's digital social media strategy

- Assist with event prep

Requirements:

- Superior written communication skills are a must

- Must be able to comfortably and professionally make phone calls

- Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

- Must be comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite and Cloud programs, i.e. GoogleDocs, WORD Online & Office 365

- Basic design skills are appreciated but not necessary
