BTF focuses on reducing health disparities and promoting health equity in the United States and abroad. In the United States, BTF is focused on cancer education to reduce cancer care inequities. BTF offers continuing medical education programs to improve physician competence and performance, leading to improved patient outcomes.

The organization educates healthcare providers and community members, advocates for better access to care, and creates innovative program models and services that improve access to care. Through international partnerships and collaborations BTF has:

  • Supported establishment of the first and only bone marrow transplant center in Nepal at the Civil service Hospital In Kathmandu.

  • Helped start a cervical cancer screening program for women in Nepal

In 2018, the foundation opened the Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center (BTFCC) in Janakpur, Nepal. The 25-bed cancer hospital is the first and only cancer hospital in Province 2, a state with more than six million people.
