Hiring managers and college admissions value volunteerism. Volunteering with a non-profit organization is a great way to put your passions and values into action while developing and enhancing job skills and expanding your personal and professional network.
SCRAP PDX is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community. We are always in need of volunteers to help stock, sort, and organize our retail store. This would be a great opportunity for students interested in a career in the arts or environmental sustainability, as well as anyone who wants to be a part of a creative, sustainable community while getting inspired! Email for more information on how to get started!
