Cultural Orientation Classes provide newly arrived refugees an overview of American rights, access to services, and culturally appropriate behaviors and expectations.

IRC Phoenix Adult Education team is seeking an instructor to teach on Mondays. Tasks may include organizing/setting up classroom with chairs and photocopies, using PowerPoint, working with interpreters, giving and grading assessments.

Learn about different refugee populations, their immigration status, and how IRC helps with their adjustment to the U.S.

- Learn U.S. cultural adjustment curriculum, in order to teach newly arrived refugees.

-Administer and grade Cultural Orientation assessments to clients that complete CO classes to demonstrate client’s level of understanding of material.

Teaching is done in a classroom setting with interpretation provided. Volunteers need to be available EVERY OTHER Monday/Wednesday.

Time: Monday and Wednesday 12:30 - 5 pm.
