About

The Los Angeles Public Library is recruiting Veteran Resource Center volunteers to assist veterans and their families in obtaining resources related to healthcare, education, employment, housing, and other benefits that they have earned through military service.

Volunteers are asked to work two days a week (preferably one weekday and Saturday) for 90 minutes to 2 hours at a time, ideally in afternoon shifts between 1-4pm.

The ideal volunteer for this assignment is familiar, or willing to become familiar, with the needs of veterans and the resources available to them, is a problem solver with excellent customer service, and is empathetic and patient.

If you want to help combat homelessness and unemployment amongst veterans, aid in their access to healthcare and higher education, or are a veteran yourself, please consider volunteering at a Veteran Resource Center.
