How YOU Can Help

Volunteer translators provide critical communication support between our registered members, their families, and our staff. Interpreters are responsible for translating documents and forms from English into Creole in order for our organization to communicate with our families regarding upcoming opportunities. All translations can be done on your own flexible schedule from your own computer; expected time commitment will vary monthly - up to 10 hours / month. Minimum 6 month commitment; can be renewed indefinitely at agreement of both parties.

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Creole
• Interest in leadership development, education, and girls’ issues
• Must maintain confidentiality
• Must have internet access and ability to communicate via e-mail
• Prior experience in translating is a plus

How to Apply:

Send email / cover letter to Amanda at socialmedia@girlscoutshh.org detailing why you are interested in the position and your experience (if any) in translating. You will then be given a sample assignment to translate to evaluate your proficiency and style.
