Mission Statement
Providing people with disabilities the assistance and support necessary to enable them to live valued lives in the community.
Description
A private, not-for-profit organization supported by the Sunrise group, whose mission is to provide people with disabilities the assistance and support necessary to enable them to live valued lives in the community. Many of the opportunities people with developmental disabilities experience today are the direct results of Sunrise founding leaders as well as the individuals and families originally served by Sunrise in South Florida. In fact, a majority of Sunrise's current leadership team were each actively involved in influencing public policy and spearheading legal challenges that dramatically improved the lifestyles of individuals with intellectual and other disabilities.
1994, United Cerebral Palsy of Tallahassee, Inc., was formed to provide Day Program and other support services in the North Florida area. The organization expanded to Sunrise Community, Inc. and provides a variety of residential and day program services.
