Make a difference by becoming a Sojourn Hospice Volunteer! Sojourn Hospice Volunteers offer compassionate presence, companionship, a listening ear and an open heart to clients and their families receiving End of Life Care. Volunteers provide a consistent presence once or twice a week to listen, talk, share conversation, sit quietly, watch TV, and/or provide a brief break from 24 hour caregiving for a family member.

We also offer the opportunity to support our office staff by making phone calls, helping with special projects, and assisting with office projects.

Special training is provided to inform and prepare you to support our clients and their families living in Shasta and Tehama counties. We ask for a commitment of 4 hours a week, following training, for a minimum of 1 year. Evening and Daytime Trainings are available and schedules for providing service are flexible. If you are under the age of 18, Volunteer trainings will be specific to the service you offer (music, companionship, ect), with approval from your responsible person. Join our Hospice Caring Team to change and be changed by this community service opportunity!
