Volunteer with Us at Upcoming Events!

Formed in 1955, Beach Cities Health District is a public agency that provides health care services to the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.

BCHD host wellness events and attends community events throughout the year to share programs and resources with our residents. Volunteers play a critical role in our outreach efforts by helping to staff events and spread the word about health and wellbeing.

We invite you to join us in participating in one of these upcoming events where volunteer support is needed.


DATES: April 24th-28th

TIME: 7:20 - 8:20 a.m

LOCATION: Routes are near Redondo Beach elementary schools

The Walking School Bus safely walks children to school. Route Audit volunteers will accompany parent volunteers and children on Walking School Bus routes to Redondo Beach schools. Auditors will make sure traffic directions are being followed and complete a short questionnaire about their experience.

Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years oldand willing to volunteer a minimum of one morning during the audit period.


DATE: Saturday, April 22nd

SHIFT TIME: 10:30am-1:30pm or 1:30-4:30pm

LOCATION: Polliwog Park

BCHD will be joining the City of Manhattan Beach’s 25 th Annual Earthy Day Celebration featuring a large assortment of fresh food and family fun; including music, games, eco-friendly products and information. Volunteers are needed to assist with staffing kid-friendly activities, handing out giveaways and more.


DATE: Saturday, May 20th

SHIFT TIME: 9:30am-12:30pm or 12:30-3:30pm

LOCATION: 1922 Artesia Blvd.

BCHD partnered with North Redondo Beach Business Association (NRBBA) to host this family-friendly community event that encourages residents, tourists and business owners to safely walk Artesia Blvd. and meet local businesses in a fun, casual atmosphere. Volunteers are needed to assist with registration, handing out giveaways and more.


DATE: Saturday, May 20 th

SHIFT TIME: 7:00-11:00am

LOCATION: 26300 Crenshaw Blvd. Torrance

BCHD will be attending South Bay Children's Health Center’s Champion for Children 5k Run/Walk benefiting underserved children, teens and adults throughout the South Bay and surrounding areas. Volunteers are needed to assist with staffing BCHD’s booth, handing out giveaways, promoting BCHD’s programs & services, and more.
