ORGANIZATION: Natural History Museum of Utah

  • 5 people are interested

Each year the Natural History Museum of Utah hosts over 45,000 elementary aged children. We need volunteers to help evaluate the experience of students on field trips to ensure that NHMU is offering the highest quality learning experience and fostering an appreciation of natural history. As a Field Trip Visitor Experience Assistant volunteer, you will be able to play a part in igniting a young child's life-long passion for science. You'll gain valuable experience working with children and with large groups, and get specialized training to learn to share the content of our exhibits in a meaningful way.

Field Trip Visitor Experience Assistant volunteers will work independently or with staff to help K-12 school groups with their departure from the Museum. Volunteers will ask students, teachers, and chaperones about the quality of their NHMU field trip experience. They will provide information and assistance to help ensure that school groups feel accommodated and supported throughout their visit. Volunteers will also collect borrowed materials and direct groups to their assigned buses.
