Would you like to experience the opportunity to create a fun and successful nonprofit fundraising event, and gain experience working on a team and developing skills in event planning? This volunteer assists with event planning for TIHAN’s fundraising event, Turnabout, a fun variety show. Team members brainstorm ideas and make plans for event theme, décor, entertainment, setup, and event flow. The volunteer will also receive support from other members of the team and will have unique opportunities to connect with members of our community. Volunteer assistance may include graphic design; marketing; soliciting donations of items to be auctioned off; seeking corporate sponsors; obtaining donations of live auction items; assisting with data entry and processing donations; helping with event ticket sales and raffle ticket sales; setting up displays of silent and live auction items; picking up donations; ensuring that all items are securely stored; recruiting volunteers to help with the day of event setup, event logistics, and cleanup; and many other components of a successful event. Volunteers should have a friendly, outgoing, and welcoming demeanor, with good attention to detail and follow-through, as well as excellent interpersonal, telephone, and email skills. Event planning, especially experience in fundraising or charity events, as well as volunteer coordination experience, are preferred, but not required. If you can help two to five hours a week, working remotely from your home or office, and also attend monthly planning meetings, this opportunity might be for you!
