Global Green USA seeks volunteers to record video and take photos of an educational event that will promote better environmental sustainability practices in New York City apartments.

Landfilling or burning recoverable wastes costs cities and businesses millions of dollars each year and releases potent greenhouse gases. With the support and participation of a variety of corporate and philanthropic partners, Global Green’s Coalition for Resource Recovery (CoRR) helps to develop, implement, and improve systems by which these wastes can be consistently and economically recovered, bringing valuable material back onto the market and creating a net greenhouse gas benefit. Multi-family dwellings or apartment buildings one of the most difficult areas for program implementation because tenants do not have the direct incentive to reduce waste generated. Global Green hopes to tackle that issue by building a network of innovative problem solvers, property managers and city agencies.

With support from Global Green’s New York City Director, your video recording will help build Global Green’s brand and be used for future media campaigns. During the sustainability forum, volunteers will record video of the panels. The volunteers will also take photos during the networking portion of the event. After the event is complete, the volunteers should edit and upload video and photos, so that they can be used by the organization.

Requirements:

  • Experience with recording video for live events
  • Experience in photography for events
  • Must have your own equipment
Please provide samples of your work and experience if available.

Mission Statement

Global Green USA is the American affiliate of Green Cross International. For 25 years, Global Green USA has been a national leader in advancing smart solutions to climate change that improve lives and protect our planet. We create transformative model projects and advance new policies that build sustainable and resilient communities and affordable housing. We help local governments, schools, and public agencies integrate sustainable design, clean energy, and water reduction measures and we help people reduce waste, live better, and act more sustainably today--and in the future.

Description

Global Green has influenced more than $20 billion dollars worth of building construction by encouraging the integration of green building and sustainability practices, and we’ve educated millions of people about climate-friendly solutions through our five annual events, including the green event of the year, our Pre-Oscar Party. Our impact has been felt across the country, particularly in areas affected by disasters such as Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans where we led green rebuilding efforts and continue to provide assistance and resources to local residents.
