Just a few hours of one-on-one tutoring each week can make a huge difference for an adult learner. That's why we aim to match all of our learners with their own dedicated volunteer tutor in our One-on-One program.
As a volunteer tutor in the One-on-One program, you'll get to see the impact you're making by working with the same student each week on their personal literacy goals. We'll provide you with all the training and materials you need to get started, and our literacy and ELL specialists will be available should you need any further help.
One-on-One tutors meet their learner for 2-3 hours a week for a minimum of six months. Within that time, you may take weeks off/reschedule appointments should the need arise. We'll find a regular appointment time and location for you to meet your learner that works for your schedule.
No previous teaching experience is necessary.
