A Community Response Volunteer is someone who advocates for survivors and represents the Sexual Assault Recovery Program while out in the community.

By becoming a Community Response Volunteer you will be asked to be an advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This could include:

  • Attending to victims while at the hospital
  • Attending law enforcement reports with victims
  • Providing emotional support to survivors, and at times, their loved ones
  • Connecting with victims to advocacy services at the Sexual Assault Recovery Program.
This volunteer opportunity is an on-going need. Volunteers pick their own on-call hours. Training and emotional support are provided.

Our center provides services such as:
-a 24 hour crisis, response, information and referral line. 365 days a year (608) 365-1119
-Emer gency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children
- Legal advocacy
-Support groups
-Safety, housing and financial planning for victims
-Children's Services
- Hispanic and other minority domestic violence outreach services
-Community Education and advocacy on behalf of a violence free community
