A new semester is just around the corner, and HandsOn Suburban Chicago (HOSC) needs YOU to help make sure students get all the support they need to succeed!
Lunch Buddies is an in-school tutoring program designed to strengthen the foundational reading and math skills of disadvantaged children in grades 4, 5, and 6. Volunteers will work with small groups of students and under the direction of volunteer leaders and/or program staff. The program takes place Monday through Thursday from 12 -1 pm. Choose and commit to at least one day per week. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus but not required. Volunteers must agree to undergo a background check.
Tutoring is a fun and rewarding experience. Lunch Buddies tutors have consistently reported that working with students has boosted their self-confidence and offered them an incredible sense of satisfaction in knowing their contributions have positively impacted the academic growth of their tutees.
