Secretary, Board of Directors

The Secretary to the Board of Directors will be responsible for the administrative aspect of the Board of Directors. This will involve taking the minutes of the BoD meetings, assisting the President with setting the Agenda, and writing letters on behalf of PRDPF!

Basis: This is a volunteer role

Job Responsibilities

  • Secretary to the BoD
  • Prepare accurate minutes reflective of the BoD meetings
  • Write and send letters as requested by the BoD or President
  • Other activities as necessary reflective of the role of Secretary to the BoD

Reports to the President,Dr. Lorna Speid

Qualifications:

  1. Must have held the same position on another Board - for profit or non profit
  2. At least 10 years of relevant experience
  3. At least a first degree (Bachelors)
  4. Be self motivated
  5. Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Excellent command of the English language
  7. Ability to empathize with patients and parents.
  8. Ability to take the initiative
  9. Self starter
  10. Require the minimum of supervision
  11. Integrity and good character are essential for this position
  12. May have a rare disease, but this is not a requirement of the role.
  13. Ability to empathize with patients with rare disease.

Based in the USA
