Mission Statement

Greater Pottstown Tennis & Learning (GPTL) seeks to develop the character of young people from all backgrounds through tennis, life skills, educational enrichment and healthy living choices by engaging a supportive community.

Description

Programs for children and adults include year-round group tennis instruction, private tennis lessons, summer camps, competitive match play in local leagues, teams and tournaments, and our annual US Open Bus Trip. Our grant/sponsorship programs offer free tennis classes to all Pottstown School District students, low-income players and Adaptive (Special Needs) individuals.

We offer free tennis programs in the Pottstown Middle School with the emphasis on fun, exercise, character development through a weekly chart that rewards good sportsmanship, healthy, eating, and exercise. Points are awarded toward future development opportunities in our program such as trips to diverse cultural events/locations. We have recently incorporated the ACE curriculum (through the United States Tennis Association) to better apply education, health, and exercise to our daily tennis programs.
