VITA volunteers prepare and e-file tax returns for free to low and moderate income taxpayers. This saves the tax payer hundreds of dollars in paid preparer fees and provides an opportunity for low income tax payers to receive tax credits.
Tax Preparation Volunteers will interview refugee taxpayers to determine if all income, deductions and allowable credits are claimed, and prepare basic or advanced 1040 tax returns and related schedules for eligible taxpayers, and will ensure a copy of the completed return is provided to the taxpayer.
Volunteers will complete mandatory Volunteer Standard of Conduct Training and tax law training, including the use of electronic filing software.
Schedule:
Thursday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
